As a company devoted entirely to aluminum anodizing, AAC Member, Reliant Aluminum Products has a vital interest in a sustainable future for this business. That's why they've joined the Aluminum Anodizers Council and other industry advocates to aggressively promote the use of aluminum.

Reliant is committed to an on-going awareness program to educate manufacturers about the advantages of aluminum. Together, we're demonstrating that anodizing is relatively benign to the environment compared to other metal finishing processes. Unlike plating and painting, anodized aluminum is much easier to recycle which conserves valuable energy and raw materials. We're proving that aluminum offers greater durability and higher value for the consumer. We're opening their eyes to all the possibilities aluminum has to offer.

This is an electrolytic process where the aluminum serves as the anode, forming an even, uniform oxide layer on top of the metal. This layer is porous, so when water-soluble dye is applied it absorbs the colorant before being sealed.

The dye is “locked in” to the aluminum oxide layer – making the color every bit as durable as the material itself.
