New Technology Patent for Houghton International

AAC member Houghton International Inc. patents a new technology under the title: "Methods and Compositions for Acid Treatment of a Metal Surface." Filed on October 17, 2017 at the U.S. Patent Office under the U.S. Patent No. 9,732,428, the patent protects Houghton's Acid Etch technology which "significantly reduces etch time, reduces waste sludge by over 50% and is performed at lower temperatures," as stated in Houghton International's press release regarding the patent.

Kyle Poyta, Houghton Global Director of Metal Finishing states, "Every day our team is in the field listening to customers and providing solutions that help them improve their product quality and business performance. Houghton's Acid Etch technology has revolutionized the etch process in the aluminum finishing industry."
