Hi. I am looking for a vendor in the USA who can provide me with an anodizing/hard coat service including a PTFE infiltration to reduce the friction. The part we handle is a 20ft aluminium tube. We have a vendor in the UK who does this for us. The surface treatment currently applied on our tubes is a sulphuric acid anodising with polymer infiltration. The anodising process produces layers that have a hardness near 300Hv and a thickness of approximately 15µ (we may consider a thicker layer to further increase the hardness). The porous layer is then infiltrated with PTFE (from an aqueous suspension of 0.1µ polymer) to reduce the friction. The infiltration process has to be carried out quickly (before the coating absorbs moisture and hydrates). Thanks very much for any help.
