: Is it possible or feasible to anodize aluminum door & window frames that were previously painted and the paint has been removed by blasting and stripping. Looking at the possiblity of trying to refinish door & window frames with anodizing where the paint system failed.
As long as the frames are all aluminum it isnt a problem, most have lead based anchors in corners for strength. The problem comes with the sandblasting often causing a gray hue to the parts since it is never completely consistent. Then you open yourself up to alot of fading issues unless you are planning to use a two step process for color. Then you should also take time to round over any edges on the parts since anodize forms perpindicular to the surface and leaves very minimal coating on sharp edges.
