: What are the common components of the type II anodizing coating?
: Water, sulfuric acid, and what else? I identified Cr & Ni by EDS from the anodized parts, I am wondering where are they from? And if they are included in the anodizing acid, what is advantage and what is the normal concentration?
: Thanks a lot for your answer in advance! :)
Nickel acetate is used to seal the coating. Sodium dichromate can also be used as a sealing agent. There are some additives used to anodize at higher temperatures but I think they are all glycerine based.
