Basically just a boiling water seal after the nickel acetate. Like the days before nickel acetate, boiling water seals aluminum. Nickel acetate was added to lower temperature and energy costs and improve overall lightfastness.

todays nickel acetate seals pretty much shouldnt need duplex anymore
