I recently had a part anodized to spec - “Type III Class 2 (mil-a-8625) with a thickness of .0003-.0006”. When the part came in I had trouble with the function of the part because it has two sliding surfaces, both anodized aluminum which didn’t slide very well. I also noticed that the color seemed to wear off easily. Is there a way to test the part (destructive or non-destructive) to see if it was anodized as specified (i.e. Type III vs Type II)?
