Plant Tours
Another popular feature of the Annual Anodizing Conference is to provide the experience of seeing theory in action with area plant tours.
You must register in advance for the plant tour as space is limited. Additional details will accompany confirmation notices to registrants.
Option #1:
A&D Prevost
Founded in Richelieu, Québec, in 1959, A&D Prevost Inc. has become a major supplier of architectural aluminum products in Canada and the Eastern United States. The company's line of premium quality architectural products includes curtain walls, skylights, windows, doors and entrances, as well as a variety of extrusions for the glass and glazing industry.
In 1996 a new state-of-the-art line was conceived, designed and built using in-house personnel. The line has a current capacity of approximately 10-million square foot per year with room for expansion. The line consists of 23 tanks, 32-foot in length with the material carried from tank to tank by two semiautomatic cranes. Architectural Class I & II coatings are produced in clear, bronze and black supplying a wide variety of markets with quality anodizing.
Option #2 (Updated!):
AnodAM
AnodAM is not your typical anodizing plant. A start-up operation located right in Montreal on Avenue Marien, AnodAM conducts its anodizing operation using an alkaline solution in place of the common acid-based electrolytes found in almost all other anodizing facilities. Their specially licensed process, which was described in a presentation delivered at the 2009 AAC Anodizing Conference in Fort Worth, is used to treat cast magnesium, titanium, tantalum, and halfium, along with aluminum castings, including such difficult alloys as A360 and A383. If you think that, having seen a few anodizing plants you’ve pretty well seen ‘em all, visit AnodAM.
All tour registrations are subject to facility approval. Anyone denied access to a tour facility will have their tour registration fee refunded in full.
