AAC Extends Deadline For Abstracts of Student Posters

Back to Newsroom

February 2, 2011

Wauconda, Illinois - The Aluminum Anodizers Council (AAC) has extended the deadline from the initial Call for Student Posters to be displayed at the Twentieth Annual International Anodizing Conference.  The new deadline for receipt of abstracts describing the student work to be presented in the poster session is March 1, 2011.

The Council is seeking student contributions reflecting a range of anodizing-related subjects to ensure that delegates are offered the most innovative, timely, and relevant content in the anodizing industry today.  The annual Anodizing Conference is an important educational event that offers a forum for anodizing industry professionals to exchange new ideas, innovations, processes, and technologies.  The 2011 Anodizing Conference is expected to attract more than 150 anodizers and other professionals within the anodizing community and is scheduled to take place October 4 through 6, 2011 at The Buttes Tempe Marriott Resort in Tempe, Arizona, USA.  Based on the submission of abstracts, selected individuals will be invited to prepare posters describing their work; selected posters will be on display at the Conference in October.

The AAC Poster Session provides a forum where students engaged in electrochemistry, metallurgy, chemistry, materials science, and related engineering disciplines may present their research in surface science, surface treatment, electrochemical finishing, and other relevant technologies to an interested audience of industry professionals.

Students displaying their work will be invited to have their posters set up on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, in time for the Welcome Reception; they will be expected to be present to interpret their posters on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.  Abstracts for poster presentations should not exceed 200 words and should be submitted by March 1, 2011 to mail@anodizing.org. Students will be notified as to whether their abstracts are accepted; poster drafts with relevant content are due by April 8, 2011.  If the poster draft is accepted, students will be informed by May 6, 2011.

The Call for Posters flyer containing the revised deadline is available to download from the Anodizing Conference website at www.AACconf.org.  Students also are encouraged to visit the Call for Posters page of the Anodizing Conference website at www.AACconf.org for additional details, or contact AAC at mail@anodizing.org.
